Happy New Year to All!

I wish to thank all of you who have participated in one of our adventures and particularly our returning customers.
We have had a lot a success this year with two trips in particular; The Canning Stock Route, renowned for its challenging sand dunes and river crossing…, and the Great Victoria Desert, the middle of nowhere in just a few days! Both attract a lot of people eager to experience a real adventure!

We have some important news about our different itineraries as well as our website. This newsletter is designed to keep you informed about the different changes.
This edition is the first of our new format. In order to make this newsletter more attractive to you, we will be running a small survey on what information you wish to see in the future letters.

Canning Stock Route:
We are now offering you the option to finish the trip in Broome (and not Perth). The complete trip from Perth through the Canning Stock Route to Broome will take only 17 days and flights can be arranged from Broome.

The reason of this change is that despite the great scenery offered along the coast on the way back from Broome to Perth, it is still a long drive and clients really enjoy spending more time on the beach, or shopping in "Beautiful weather Broome". #E_CSR#
Accommodation in Broome can be arranged for you prior to arrival.

Great Victoria Desert:
The Great Victoria Desert (or GVD) is now a very popular tour for those with only a few days. It is now an 8 days round trip from Perth and takes you to Kalgoorlie, home of the largest open cut gold minei in the world. In Kalgoorlie we can experience the harsh conditions of mining in the ealy days with a trip underground in the tourist mine, and even pan for gold.
Leaving "Kal", our next stop is historic Menzies before we explore the unique Antony Gormley installation at Lake Ballard. Gormley has created casts statues capturing the essence of the people of Menzies. #E_GVD#
It is one of the longest distances in the desert between two petrol stations (1100kms!)
Bookings should be made at least two months in advance.

A Time to relax:
Was the end of 2004 really hectic for you? Everyone I have spoken to was really looking forward to a break… a time to recuperate. Many people will be going away for holidays and for a big trip like our desert adventures, now is the time to start planning.

Imagine being in a living desert abundant with flora and wildlife and the nearest town is nearly 400 kms away! And because you set the pace and determine what you want to see you can take those photos that you would otherwise miss, or walk in the bush at your pace and not worry that the bus wants to go.

Finish the day with an icy cold drink playing petanque (French “boule”) with a view from horizon to horizon enjoying a ‘blood red’ desert sunset in a setting so few people will ever enjoy. Your guide will prepare a sumptuous meal before you retire to your comfortable bed under a star filled sky.

The comfort of the vehicle tames the challenge of the desert so that at the end of your adventure you will return home never having felt so alive!

"How many people in the vehicle?"
Maximum of three (plus guide) for short trips (Great Victoria Desert - 8 days) and two for longer trips (Canning Stock Route - 17/19 days).

Because most trips are made with a single vehicle, the 4WD is completely self-sufficient.

Communication: UHF radio, HF radio and satellite phone.
Recovery: Electric winch, sand ladders, sand anchor, air compressor, snatch straps, spare wheels, tools, etc...
Health: Comprehensive first aid kit, first aid qualified guide, direct access to Royal Flying Doctor Service.
Navigation: GPS, detailed maps, compass, and a knowledgeable guide!
